Jockey Club Ice Hockey Generation Next 2015-2018

The HKAHC has received a generous donation of HK $4.7M from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to manage and run the “Jockey Club Ice Hockey Generation Next” Program. This 3-year program is the first-ever team-based hockey training in Hong Kong for young players between the age of 8 and 18.

Don’t forget you will need to arrive at the rink at least 60 minutes before the start of your allocated on-ice practice. Please wear your sports shoes and appropriate clothing for pre-practice warm-up.

Other Goals of Generation Next:
  • To transit from recreational level to higher competitive level for junior players
  • To prepare players for competitions at international standards
  • To train new pool of players for future senior leagues and national teams
  • Ice Hockey for Life – encourage life-long participation in sport
  • Be a team person – enhance interpersonal skills through ice hockey training and games in a team environment

More about the program

Participants of the “Jockey Club Ice Hockey Generation Next” program will need to train and play at least twice or three times a month at MegaBox, Kowloon Bay throughout the 9-month season.

There will be a maximum of 30 players in each team.

How to apply?
Application forms should be mailed to Unit 1013 KITEC, 1 Trademart Drive, Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong.

This training program is Free of Charge for recipients of:
  • Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme; or
  • Student Financial Assistance Scheme; or
  • School Recommendation Letter stating that the participants have potential in the sport that warrant funding support for their pursuit in ice hockey

Supporting documents are required to submit with your applications. Applicants who do not fit into the above criteria will be required to pay an application fee of HKD 4,500 per season, made payable by cheque to the 「Hong Kong Amateur Hockey Club Limited」. Payment should be delivered by post alongside the application.
