HKAIH On-Ice Officials Clinic (Classroom)
On October 23rd the HKAIH held it's Annual Referee Clinic. For six hours, veteran and rookie referees reviewed the basics of being an HKAIH referee and linesman, and discussed new rules and procedures for the 2011-2012 season. The clinic included many videos and clips of game footage to help HKAIH referees better understand legal and illegal body contact, and many examples of how to properly understand Checking From Behind and Checking to the Head. The addition of this year's Full-Contact Peewee games is an exciting new challenge for the HKAIH Referee Development Program to continue exposing it's on-ice officials to faster, more physical hockey.

Q: If both teams have a penalty and the game is being played at 4 on 4, does one of the penalties get cancelled if a goal is scored?
A: No. A penalty is only cancelled by a goal if the team that is scored on is playing SHORT-HANDED. Short-Handed means that the other team has more players on the ice than the penalized team. If the situation is 5 on 3, the team with only 3 players would get to bring ONE player back when scored on.
The same would be true if the on-ice strength was 4 on 3. Only the team with three players is considered SHORT-HANDED. Also note, that only MINOR PENALTIES are cancelled by goals.

香港冰球訓練學校 - 裁判訓練班 （室內課堂）
由香港冰球訓練學校舉辦年度裁判訓練班已於本月23日完成。歷時六小時的課堂將向新學員及有經驗的裁判﹑邊裁介紹2011-12年度新裁判制度。訓練班課程包括影片播放及比賽剪輯片段助學員更了解合法及非法解圍的分別；亦有從後非法撞人等不同裁判要面對的個案。今年新增可碰撞式的Pee Wee比賽，面對更快更多身體接觸的賽事，更是對各裁判的一個新挑戰。

問: 如果兩隊都以4位球員作賽，有入球的話，犯規會被取消嗎？
答: 不會。取消犯規的情況只會出現在兩隊球隊較少球員的一隊。“少防多”意思是被罰的球隊比另一隊球員數目少。如果情況是5打3，3人的球隊儘管失球，也只會取消一個犯規，變成5打4。在4打3的情況下也是一樣，3人的球隊才是“少防多”的隊伍。要說的是，被判“小罰”才會被取消。
